EBBS v3.4

By

Ed Parry

Introduction:

EBBS is another of what may be called the standard Commodore BBS program. Message base, transfer, and menu formats are all fairly typical, which is great for users as it means the system is familiar and easy to navigate around no matter what system is being called.

EBBS's waiting for call screen.

EBBS was probably influenced by the 648x line, and if its as old as I've heard, has had its own influence on the like of ZBBS, Boneboard, and others. Ed Perry is reputed to still be around, such that we may possibly get some ordering and update information out on this page eventually.

EBBS main menu

Among other notable aspects of EBBS is its very interesting configuration program. It's run offline, and involes changing data statements within the BASIC code of the configurator to run. I found this annoying, but it did earn a comment I suppose. :)

The Facts:

The following is for EBBS v3.3. The docs for this version of EBBS, along with the 1670 docs are also available here.
