Deep Pan Software

Introduction:

Deep Pan Software appears to be a person calling themselves "Split Infinity", and as far as I know, this is their only product.

It is an interesting product, however, being quite the opposite of the transfers-focused systems. This program has NO upload/download capability. Its entire purpose seems to be the fascilitating of online RPGs by many players and their GMs (or DMs if you prefer).

A perty screen greets you after loading the main program.

Since this is not your typical system, needs be I spend a moment discussing what it IS about. The program handles a number of games, which consist of a message base where gaming occurs, a game master with privileges to make changes to those games and their players, and players who are users enrolled in games by their game master. The SysOp has control of all games, and all rosters, as well as being the only one with access to game creation. Gaming is expected to be handled by messages posted in the gaming message bases, where arrangements for all particulars are handled by their respective game masters.

Several options are available to the SysOp.

The organization of the system consists of several submenus where certain functions can be performed by the game master, sysop, or a player. The (PLAY) area is actually the message base area, of a familiar structure. The (GAMES) area is where game masters set the status of their games (open or closed, etc) and where users can receive information about games and then apply for entry into a game if they so desire. The (USER) area is where a user can get some information about themselves, and the SysOp can do his or her user maintenance. The (ROSTER) area is where the game master can add players to his or her games, or users can view other rosters and see their stats. Lastly, the (FILES) area appears to be another SysOp only area where the several displays and other text files can be edited.

FRBBS is highly structured and subdivided into several menus.

The Facts:

Again, this section is going to look deceptively bad for this program since it is not set up to be a standard full-featured BBS program.
